What is Your Definition of Success? Everyone has a different definition of success for them. My definition of success is not the same as yours and yours is not the same as anyone else’s – because we all want different things. You can be successful in different areas of your life, whether that is being a successful parent (you should always feel like that when you make it through the day with kids), being financially wealthy, having a great relationship with your spouse, being successful by doing something you love and are passionate about, etc. For me, my definition of success is freedom. The freedom to do what I am passionate about and living my purpose by helping others. The freedom to spend my days the way I choose instead of working a 9-5 job (I never was good at being told what to do). The freedom to be successful by chasing my dreams. What does success mean for you? The actual definition of success is: accomplishment of one's goals. Your success only depends on you taking action towards your dreams and goals to accomplish them. If you aren’t taking action to move towards your dreams and goals that doesn’t mean that you aren’t successful. It just means that you are stuck off path for a little bit. You can choose to take those actions towards achieving success in your life at any time. Don’t wait too long just sitting on the sidelines of your life. Time can get away from you and before you know it – weeks, and then months and then years have passed. Sometimes taking action towards your goals and dreams can be overwhelming. That’s where using the tools and resources available to you is crucial. You can also hire a life coach or mentor to keep you accountable and help you along the way, which is very important. An athlete wouldn’t go into a championship without training with a coach, and life is the ultimate championship for your definition of success – so having someone coach and guide you along the way has amazing benefits and results. You define your own success and what that means for you. There is no cookie-cutter answer to what success is – it is always going to be unique to each individual. You choose what success means for you - and then - take action. Remember… Life is What You Choose Renea |
