Your Warrior StoryHoly Bananas you guys! The new Wonder Woman movie is out today and because I am a busy mom/wife/coach/business owner – I rarely go to the movies unless it’s a cartoon (all moms out there you know that you feel me right now). So, out of curiosity because this is one movie that I’m trying to add to my self-care regimen this week, I was looking up the trailer to see if it would be appropriate to take my daughter. A little mommy/daughter movie night to see something that empowers women – yes please. In my research, I came across the second title (subtitle) of the movie – Rise of the Warrior. My jaw dropped. Do you know how many times I have seen the word WARRIOR in the past few weeks – including some basketball thing going on right now (which to me equals boring – sorry if you’re into it) the Cavaliers vs the Warriors. The only way I know that is that is it’s pretty much sports tv being played on the big screens at the gym (that or CNN – no real housewives here). So as I’m doing my HIITs on the elliptical, (thinking, dreaming, letting ideas flow and creating in my head), I continue to see the word WARRIOR. God I love it when the Universe sends you clear messages to smack you right in the face – like ok ok I got you, I feel you, I’m listening. This keeps pulling me to bring one idea to life about all my warriors out there. My strong, warrior women that always get back up and keep moving forward. Each of you has your own unique warrior story and are a warrior in your own right. You have faced your own battles and have overcome and risen as the strong warrior that you are. You didn’t let the battle beat you down, you got up and overcame. It may not have always been pretty and you might have at times thought that it might just break you, but you got up and faced it. You made it through and lived to tell about it. That battle is now a part of your unique warrior story. What did you learn? How did you use it as fire in your belly to push forward? Did you own it or let it own you? To own your warrior story means you stand up proud that you made it through and share your story with others. Not to be embarrassed or ashamed that it happened, but to own it. It was something that you faced, came through and is now a part of your warrior story. My creative juices have been flowing, pushing ahead to a big scary dream. I am currently writing a book of my own warrior story – standing up to own it and share it with others so that they can see that it is possible to overcome battles. Sharing things that are so personal, that it took me years to be able to fully comprehend sharing it with anyone besides my husband. The idea that keeps pulling, tugging, and just plain smacking me in the face is that this book is not just about my warrior story, but yours as well. I am on the hunt to interview these strong, warrior women to share their unique warrior story also. To compile a book of strong, warrior women that make up a huge tribe, owning their warrior stories and sharing them with one another. To connect with one another and give each other hope that “If she can do it, so can I”. It is time to own your warrior story and remember your strength – for then – you become unstoppable.
