The Internal Battle

The Internal Battle

This is the hardest battle that can creep up over and over again – the internal battle. For me, it has creeped up more times than I probably recognize throughout my lifetime. I’m talking about the internal battle of not feeling good enough. I find that for me this has stemmed all the way back to when my father left when I was 5 years old.

I have found that through recognizing my own issues of not feeling like I was ever enough – that most women with absent/uninvolved fathers have those same underlying battles and fears. We rage the war inside and become our own worst enemy by holding onto those feelings of not being enough.

With the battle raging inside, it will manifest itself outside into your reality. It can come up in many forms of self-sabotage such as an unnecessary argument, over indulging in triggers such as food, alcohol, smoking, etc. or a bad relationship. However, it manifests itself will usually be riddled with your own excuses for why something is that way or why it’s someone else.

For me, the first trigger I turn to is food. This is my classic self-sabotage that I always back up with any good excuse that I can find. I want to be transparent and keep it real with my tribe, so I will fully admit that I have fallen into this self-sabotage lately. My health journey has been side-tracked by not having my eating on point – some people might think this is a very surface problem and wonder what the heck the connection is.

That’s where I come in – I can see the connection for someone else from a mile away, that’s my gift as the coach that I am. Not bragging, just the simple fact because it helps me get to serve my tribe and clients better by getting to the root issue early in order to shift it ASAP. Now, any coach will tell you that they highly recommend having a coach – not because they are trying to sell themselves (ok – yes there are some that are just in it to make $ online). But because if you are a great coach, you know that investing in yourself is invaluable AND because it can be very difficult and almost impossible to recognize your own blocks, triggers and self-sabotages – yes even for coaches.

That’s why it’s great to have someone there to point it out to your face and actually help you do something about it. Now that I have recognized the self-sabotage of over-eating goodies and know that it’s my classic trigger for not feeling like I’m enough – I can do something about it. The biggest tie in to knowing what the trigger is – is to look at the timing. What is going on at that time? I repeatedly say that everyone is fighting a battle that you know nothing about.

My example of this internal battle has stemmed from a new, big, scary, amazing project that I am currently finishing up and about to launch. I coach people on how to change their life and chase their dreams, which is super scary for pretty much everyone I have ever known to actually do it. I am no exception – so as I dare to rise up like the warrior that I am and chase this big scary dream of releasing this LIFE CHANGING program – I have those feelings creep up of not being good enough. This is completely normal and I know that you have those feelings too – we all have them. That’s why I’m here – to let you know that you are not alone. But once we recognize that those thoughts are just us fighting a battle against ourselves – we can do something about it.

Remembering our strength as the warriors that we are and getting out of our own way. We are amazing and enough right now as we are on our journey – always pushing forward. The internal battle, the war that you wage against yourself is the toughest battle that you will ever fight. Take those battles and learn the lessons to use it as the fire in your belly to keep you focused on your journey and where you want to be.

You are an amazing warrior that has so much to offer the world, just by being you. You are enough right now so don’t be so hard on yourself. Once you recognize the self-sabotage trigger – that will reflect what’s going on inside. Release the internal battle and remember your strength – you are enough and you are loved.

You are Strong | You are Enough | You are a Warrior
