Setting Goals to Change Your Life

HAPPY 2017 EVERYONE!!! I hope you rang in the new year with a bang and made some new goals for yourself to achieve in this new year and next chapter in your life.
 
I have seen online that some people are against making “New Year’s Resolutions” – I can understand why. You don’t want to set new resolutions for yourself because New Year’s Resolutions are notorious for being broken. Instead, I usually set GOALS for myself that I want to accomplish in the next 365 days. Things that I know that I want to be brought into my life and I have no idea HOW I’m going to achieve them; I just know these are things that excite me and that I want to do this year. If you make a goal that doesn’t excite you – make a new goal. You must emotionally connect with your goal or otherwise you won’t care enough to make it happen.

I create habits that help support my goals, for example, I want to put my health first and get in shape. So, I create a habit of going to the gym by scheduling my workout at a time that I know I will do it. Creating habits is a great tool that is necessary to achieving any goal. Then, take fucking action over and over again. I take action and make choices that are aligned with the goals that I have written down in my journal to bring them to fucking existence. I don’t let fear of anything hold me back and control my choices. I choose and decide the life that I want and then I step the fuck up and create it. Plain and simple.

Action for everyone is different because everyone’s dreams and wants are different. As long as you are taking positive action towards your goals – that’s all that matters. Stop and think about your choices and decisions throughout the day – does this line up with the goal that I set for myself? If your goal is to get in shape – is eating that giant tub of ice cream or going to the gym line up with that? How does each one of those choices individually make you feel? I know that I have talked myself out of going to the gym many times, but when I go – I never regret going. I always feel better that I went and much worse about myself when I have chosen to eat the giant tub of ice cream.
 
When you are working towards a goal, make your choices based from your goal being achieved now. If you were in awesome shape, you would already have created a habit around going to the gym and so the giant tub of ice cream isn’t as tempting. You know how you will feel after each choice so you create healthy habits to support you on your way to achieving this goal. (Weight loss is just an example; this can be put towards ANY goal that you want to achieve).
 
Are you going to make mistakes? Yes – everyone does, including me. I make huge mistakes, but I always sit back and learn the lesson from those mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up over a few mistakes – just learn the lesson from your mistake and then it no longer is a mistake – it becomes a learning lesson. Now, if you make the same mistake repeatedly without trying to learn the lesson or creating healthy habits to help you – that’s just called insanity. You are repeating the same ‘mistake’ over and over expecting different results.
 
Create healthy habits and an environment that will help you achieve these goals. Plan out over the next several weeks how you are going to create the habits that help you and release the habits that hurt you. Then execute the plan – DAILY!
 
Making your goals come to life can be easy and most of all – FUN! It feels awesome when you achieve something that you had no idea how you were going to do it. You just committed to doing it – and then took the action necessary to have it a done deal. Do this over and over with your goals so that you can constantly up-level your life and grow.
 
Set your goal.
Commit to your goal.
Take positive action towards your goal.
Release negativity and make choices that line up with your goal.
Achieve and receive your goal.
