Scared of Change? My hubby is out taking a course this week and he came home last night with “homework”. His homework was to either read or watch the video “Who Moved My Cheese?”. I encourage you to seriously take a look because it has to do with change. You see, people can think of change as this big, scary thing that you are going to have to “endure”, but it doesn’t have to be like that at all. Change can be amazing and make you feel incredible while you are going through it. But, GUESS WHAT? Who controls how you view the change that is happening? Yup… you do. Now, I know what some people are going to say. If you have a major battle, like a death or serious illness that you aren’t choosing that change. Don’t confuse battles with choices – if you are given a battle, you still have a choice how to view the change. A battle is change – it’s just unavoidable change because after you go through a battle, it changes how you view your reality. You can choose to view change as something that is negative and that is happening to you. Or you can choose to view it as something that is wonderful. How? Because you can choose how you end up on the other side of the change. You can choose to control the change by how you choose to view your reality on the other side. Good or bad? It all comes down to a choice - a choice of your mindset about change. So, how do you flip the script? You commit to something, anything that you want to change and then just start. Is it going to be perfect? Ummm…. NO – nothing is perfect, but you will get better at it over time. Like they say, practice makes perfect – so start practicing embracing change. Make little changes at first and work up if need be, but just start something. Could the new thing not work out? Yes… but what if it did? What if you knew the change meant something new and exciting on the other side? What would you change if you knew you couldn’t fail? Change is going to happen either way, it can happen to you or for you. You choose. Remember… Life is What You Choose XO Renea |
