Warrior WomenWith the new Wonder Woman movie out – it has had me thinking a lot about the strong, warrior women that I have met throughout my life. These women are part of the of the warrior tribe – women that have faced many big and small battles in their own lifetime. These warrior women that always go at life with the same attitude - “I’ll figure it out”.
Put the Mask on Yourself FirstI was doing a live video a few nights ago talking about how us moms can suffer from mom guilt. (if you didn’t happen to see it – check out my FB page here) I was talking about how moms suffer from mom guilt if you want to do things on our own. Ya know, when you need to leave the house and be by yourself for your own sanity. Or maybe it’s getting dressed up and going out with a group of friends for the evening. Moms can tend to feel guilty for wanting to do things for themselves, thinking that this makes them selfish in some way. Then, those thoughts can lead back to asking yourself “Does this make me a bad mom?”
Your Warrior Vibe Attracts Your Warrior TribeWow, do I have a story for you guys! As some of you know, I attended a Tony Robbins event a few months ago and was so excited to finally go and meet him (my husband & I purchased a package with a meet and greet - aka a pic with him and shake his hand). The speakers at the event were all middle age-ish men - ZERO women - and of course 4 out the 7 were selling you something.
From One Mother to AnotherToday is my little boy’s birthday – my baby, my second (and last), my momma’s boy is turning 5 today. I often wonder how time can go so slow and so fast all at once when you have children. I mean, when you are in the day to day grind with kids – it seems like time goes so slow. Then you get a day like today, where you look back at everything that has transpired over the last 5 years. Whoa – where the heck did the time go?
How to Beat Mom Life OverwhelmWith Mother’s Day that just passed – it has gotten me thinking about the support that moms need nowadays. Obviously – being a busy mom of 2 myself, I know how tough this job really is. Don’t get me wrong – it is totally rewarding and amazing when you look at those beautiful babies of yours. But, then there are days when you really just want to talk to a grown up about something other than poop.
Love Yourself Mama(Warning MOMs – Tear Jerker Ahead)
“A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me. It isn’t very pretty anymore. Some may even think it’s ugly. That’s OK. It was your home. It’s where I first grew to love you, where I lay my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It help you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it.” – Cassie Fox Don’t Give InFear is the #1 reason that people don’t take action towards their goals. Fear of change, fear of failure, fear of stepping out of your comfort zone. And for some reason, we all think that our fear is legitimate – looking for the validation that we need to prove to ourselves that we shouldn’t even try.
Stop Doubting YourselfWhen you start looking at changing something in your life (whatever area that is for you) you are on the ledge of the big, scary cliff. Have you ever imagined yourself actually physically there? Do you doubt if you would let go of the ledge to make the change a non-negotiable?
DOUBT KILLS MORE DREAMS THAN FAILURE EVER WILL More bad words My kids know that the phrase “I can’t” is just as bad as using the f-word. But I had a very interesting conversation with my 4-year-old son in the car this morning about the word hate. He was telling me how someone in preschool said a bad word yesterday (probably the fourth time I had heard the story) and the word was hate.
When the Going Gets Tough - The Tough Get Going Have you heard this expression before? My mom used to say it all the time. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Of course, I didn't get it during my teenage years (you know - the years where you think your parents don't know anything).
Life can get tough sometimes, especially when you are going through battles. Those battles are meant to help you grow. However, if you constantly throw your hands up & give up when it gets tough - the true growth never happens. |
